Current Affairs The Republican Message

The Republican Message
Today I watched the Barbour, McConnell, Boehner show and found it easy to understand how the Democrats lost so big.  Each of the three used "American people" in each and every sentence.  I am in awe of the success of the Republican message over the last two years: always the same, always simplistic, always telling us what the American people think and want.  Hitler had it right.  Tell a lie often enough and it becomes the truth.  They hammered the public, oops the "American people," so hard and so often that their message became the only truth around.
Some polling suggested that only one third of voters thought the stimulus was a success.  Republican spokespersons told us it was a failure so often that it looks like two thirds of voters think the most successful anti-recession program in history was a failure.  And many of these "truth tellers" voted for elements of the stimulus package, including Boehner who wept tears of joy when the TARP passed the house.  (Yes, I know that Boehner does weep at every opportunity).
If Obama can actually accomplish something in the next two years, he should be reelected by acclamation.
